Important Note on Non-Clinical Scope: Her Helping Hand provides non-clinical companionship, everyday practical assistance, and social engagement. We do not provide clinical nursing, medical treatments, personal hygiene/bathing, or diagnostic medical care.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information necessary to deliver thoughtful, safe companionship and reliable family communication, including:
Contact Information: Names, phone numbers, email addresses, and home addresses of adult children, family decision-makers, and older loved ones.
Family & Routine Details: Interests, hobbies, daily routines, conversational preferences, dietary preferences for light meal prep, and mobility comfort levels.
Caregiver & Helper Applications: Resumes, employment history, references, and Vulnerable Sector Police background checks for applicants seeking to join our companion team.
Billing Information: Invoicing details and payment confirmation records.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used strictly to:
Conduct complimentary family consultations and companion matching.
Coordinate scheduled visits, neighbourhood walks, outings, and errands.
Deliver agreed-upon post-visit reassurance updates to authorized family members.
Issue accurate billing and maintain client account records.
Respond to prospective helper employment applications.
We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
3. Consent & Ontario Privacy Standards
We operate in compliance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Information is collected with your knowledge and consent. You may withdraw or modify your consent at any time by contacting us.
4. How We Safeguard Your Information
We implement industry-standard organizational and technical safeguards, including encrypted Google Workspace communications, secure password protocols, two-factor authentication, and restricted internal access. Only team members directly involved in coordinating companionship or administration have access to client notes.

You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you or your loved one, request corrections, or ask for your records to be removed.
